The magnificent hand-painted 2-panel screen shows four cranes in a calming and resting scene. Cranes are Asian symbols of longevity, delicately painted in a serene willow tree setting, on gold foil. This screen can be hung as a statement piece of a wall or used as a room divider with its solid Hongmu wood frame. Hand-antiqued brass hardware protect the corners, and hanging hardware is installed on the backside.
The late legendary designer Lucia Lawrence designed the delicate painting with strong Japanese influence and commissioned a top contemporary painter in Hong Kong to hand paint using traditional Japanese brush painting methods with ink.
No two in the world of this design are exactly the same, and less than 20 were produced.
