There is a popular Chinese legend telling that when the persistent carp finally overcomes the final obstacle of jumping over “the Dragon Gate” it may transform into a dragon. This piece alludes to that story, with two figures rising determinedly upward in an unmistakable ascent towards ambition and success. LIULI artists pay homage to the virtue of continual determination here, showing that success is always within reach.
